Precious Waste Refinery, Nepal’s first facility dedicated to the scientific extraction of precious metals from electronic waste, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a solid understanding of electrical systems. The role focuses on ensuring the continuous operation of the refinery through proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of all mechanical and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily mechanical and electrical maintenance of the plant.
Responsible for smooth operations and internal decision-making.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance and servicing schedules.
Troubleshoot and repair issues in pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors, and furnaces.
Coordinate with metallurgical/process engineers during operational or technical adjustments.
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
Plan and manage servicing activities during production shutdowns.
Ensure safety compliance in all maintenance and electrical activities.
Monitor spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement.
Train and guide maintenance staff and helpers on operational best practices.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior experience in the electrical industry is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a manufacturing, processing, or refinery plant.
Strong hands-on knowledge of electrical systems — including control panels, motor wiring, and starter circuits.
Excellent troubleshooting, planning, and documentation skills.
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.Good leadership and coordination abilities.
Willingness to work closely with metallurgical and process engineers to ensure plant efficiency.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in industrial maintenance, heavy machinery, or production plants.
Familiarity with PLC systems, gas scrubbers, dismantling units, or refining equipment.
Understanding of industrial safety standards and maintenance budgeting.
Ability to prepare and implement long-term servicing schedules.
